They don't come to terms with it though. They accept the evidence and they accept the declaration that the evidence is wrong. Doublethink as Orwell called it.
Actually it didn't happen. The waste was left in Aungier Street in the Central Commercial District where waste companies are not allowed to collect waste until the evening and late at night. By that time the incinerator is closed, so none of these vehicles go direct to the incinerator. They all go to transfer stations. I am asking RTE for the tracking evidence so that I can get to the bottom of what actually happened.
Interesting - thanks Conor. He did say it went straight to the incinerator so I'd been keen to hear what further details are available from the tracker
I might be able to shed some light on what has happened, Louise. My explanation is not in any way a excusing cowboys. I'm not claiming to know what happens to each truck, or what happened in this case. But the nurse might be missing important context.
When we say 'recycled waste' in Ireland, we generally mean the 'green bin': plastic, aluminium and paper. These need to be separated in to their stream in a recycling plant, like Panda in Ballymount. That's the system in Ireland.
A shocking amount of green bin waste does get diverted to landfill or incineration. What's the reason? Well, the waste mgmt companies claim that it's due to contamination. A lot of recyclables *are* contaminated from people not putting them in in a clean, dry manner.
It gets more complicated with plastics. Plastics are a massive family of chemical compounds. Many are not recycled, like polystyrene. Apartment blocks are worst. I lived in one where everyone empties their recycling in to a massive dumpster (with a separate one for the black bin). You can really see the problem when you are looking at the nonsense people are throwing in. It's all mixing together, like in a rubbish truck.
There is a human side to the recycling process. This recycling will be put on conveyor belts and humans separate it. If a truck is, say, 25% contaminated, then the company deems it uneconomical to sort. It goes to landfill or incinerator then. They're also at the mercy of international markets and what standard of waste will be accepted for further processing abroad.
None of the above is an excuse. I tried to keep this comment short as there's a lot more to it. My point is simply: yes, there are some cowboys but it's far more complicated than just that.
Thanks for all that info Tom. No doubt it's complicated. Conor Walsh made that point to Peter, who said the tracker showed it never went to a facility for sorting, just straight to the incinerator site. I wonder then, as you say, is the sorting process economical for companies at all?
Wild horses couldn't get me to listen to Joe Duffy so I'll take your word for it.
I wonder how widespread this practice is, or which refuse company was involved. Is there a way for other people to track their recycling waste? Fifteen to twenty euro seems a lot to pay for one of these trackers but maybe it would be worth it to find out if this scam is limited to just one 'rogue company' or not.
No doubt Liveline will be following up on their scoop!
It appears to me that it was neither, but I am hoping to get the evidence from Peter Laurent or RTE to get to the bottom of it. I cannot expand on my theory without that. I know for sure that the bags could not have gone directly from Aungier street to the incinerator. They had to go to a transfer station first.
Louise very entertaining article, well done for picking it up and passing it onto those of us who have given up on mainstream media. Absolutely nothing surprises me anymore! Clown world.
I remember my chemistry teacher insinuating this over 20 years ago to us. At the time I thought he was an old quack. Not the first and certainly not the last time I have been wrong in my conclusions .
PS- Don’t tell the NPCs that their good boy/girl behaviour is for nothing and all these “green” operations are solely to tax them all into poverty/slavery. Their little NPC hearts will go all achey- breaky.
I don’t know how I missed this article but as someone who spent three and a half years working for the largest waste management company in the country I can confirm this is the case. I also have documented PROOF that all compost is dumped into a pit on a farm in Meath.
Also have a look at the incinerator at Huntstown. When we were being trained up on its usage we were told that a particular “mix” of incinerated materials would produce enough electricity to power several houses. When I asked how the mix was calculated according to the materials in the warehouse I was told (once again) that I ask too many questions. As to the question asked re the sorting of recycling at the Ballycoolin depot, I can confirm that the belts are only used when the volume of waste is “manageable” and only for skip waste.
I note some disagreements about the existence or otherwise of a climate crisis. There is much valuable and credible information on the question, mostly in video form, at yourclimate.ie
There are thousands of people employed in recycling in Ireland. Do you really think that we send all the recyclables to the incinerator and pay a high price there, rather than sort them and sell them? That makes absolutely no sense.
Recycling bags need to be left out in the evening in that area as the trucks are not allowed to collect during the day in the Central Commercial District. Peter left his bags out in the mornings, before going to work, so they could have been lifted as part of the street cleaning & litter bin emptying service, but I won't know that until I get the tracking times and locations. But even in that scenario, the bags would not go straight to the incinerator, they would go to a depot and possibly a transfer station after that.
Louise, first of all, thank you for saving me the bother of listening to Joe Duffy. Second of all, anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows that recycling, like government, is yet another scam. But if we're going to run the new world order we need as much corruption as possible so that money ends up in the hands of the right people- Or at least out of the hands of so-called "productive people." As the self avowed Satanist Bob Dylan once wrote: "Don't criticise what you can't understand'"
I wonder are you recycling that trope about Dylan saying (something like) "yeah, like I went to the crossroads, made a deal.."? This in answer to the question of his learning so much of his musical skill in such a short period of time. (Early 60s). I don't have time right now to play the Scorcese "No Direction Home" docu, but my recollection is of a comment laughingly referencing the old legend of Robert Johnson allegedly doing that "at the crossroads".
But "self-avowed Satanist..." - gimme a break. I think he has been a Christian for the most part.
" Should I ask who you made the bargain with?" ("to get where I am now") Answer "with the chief commander" ..."Where?" - "on this earth and a world we cannot see"
It takes some gymnastics to interpret that as a bargain with "Satan" and to describe Dylan as a Satanist.
“The reality is, this stuff doesn’t happen."
The establishment declaring that things aren't happening despite the contrary evidence right in front of its eyes is quite the theme lately.
That line is exactly what prompted me to write this up!
Imagine the poor Liveline listeners, coming to terms with this new reality
They don't come to terms with it though. They accept the evidence and they accept the declaration that the evidence is wrong. Doublethink as Orwell called it.
This is the crux of it all isn't it

Yes...and it's an even bigger shock to the system when you finally realise they are fooling you with everything.
Brilliant story Louise. Now if we could only catch the three stooges out.........
Kudos to Peter for this one!

Haha JP that was the headline going round in a loop in my head
"Tuning into to RTE so you dont have to." A buffer service to the state broadcaster :)
Yep. That should be your slogan!
There's a torture chamber in Gitmo. It involves having to listen to Joe Duffy 24/7
Not many survive.
Lol. Clare Byrne is worse though
Take your pick Louise, they're all equally torturous.
So, is this standard practice across the board? Or a rogue refuse collector.
I imagine lots are asking the same question...
It appears to me that it was neither, but I am hoping to get the evidence from Peter Laurent or RTE to get to the bottom of it. I cannot expand on my theory without that. OFF-TOPIC
my monthly payment didn't go through, can't fix it. I'll try to unsubscribe then subscribe again. No panic, give it a while...
Thanks for letting me know! That's going on for the past month. Trying to get it sorted this end.
You must have gotten it sorted - I got a receipt this morning for the Nov. 15 payment.
Louise very entertaining article, well done for picking it up and passing it onto those of us who have given up on mainstream media. Absolutely nothing surprises me anymore! Clown world.
Hope you’re keeping well🌺
All well my dear on the news recycling front!

Hi Louise,
Absolutely! You have my details. Looking forward to it.
Have a great day ☺️

Most interesting Mary! Can I contact you privately to follow up on this?

I hope you will find it useful.
There you go....wakey, wake!!! Further evidence we are all being ......scammed!!!
This doesn’t surprise me in the slightest . Has been going on for years and years

What do you think happened Conor?

Thanks for that info. The tracker detail will be interesting so!

Don't get me wrong. It's not a criticism at all. Far from me of all people to be criticising a Satanist.

Climate emergency? We need evidence, for or against. Start here > yourclimate.ie
I plead not guilty Ciaran. I think the people that make that effort, including me, know the truth.
