Great to see more candidates running. My only worry and fear is that they don't fully understand the problem and therefore cannot solve it.

Deportations and even jailing both our politicians and those in the EU wouldn't be enough to stop this. There's a group of people who push migration across the west and they have even admitted to it yet people are still ignorant

I think anyone using their voice is a powerful display of resistance. Especially those walking with the Lord

I think the immigration campaign is a form of gerrymandering - creating voter blocs who will always support the establishment, after all they won't vote for anyone who might send them back!

That's one benefit of it for sure.

Thanks, Louise for this beautifully written article about Mary Fitzgibbon and her lovely family. I actually wish that candidates like her were running for the Dáil, not for the European Parliament. I think the European Parliament is a pit of lost causes into which genuinely ethical candidates will fall, never to be seen again. To make things worse, Mary who is clearIy a woman of remarkable ability and courage, will be lost to her students. I personally believe that working with young people is the only way in which we can fundamentally build change. Nevertheless, I wish her the best.

I kind of agree - and maybe she will! But let's see how this goes first.

You make some good points there. And I hope the desire to get Ireland out of the EU will gain more support as tme goes on.

I cried when I read the piece about abortions. My daughter was born with nail patella syndrome and has many complex symptoms one of which is the club feet, she is nearly 32yrs old. My daughter Laura had a kidney transplant in 2016 (her brother donated,) and we are so blessed as a family to still have her with us. There is no help for people with disabilities, everything for Laura is more complicated due to her disabilities. During COVID Laura was constantly berated by medical staff for not getting vaccinated, she stood her ground because not one medical consultant could show her the literature if it was safe and effective. Keep up the brilliant writing Louise, it's wonderful and it keeps me going.

Thank you for this Lisa! Delighted for Laura. It only took a few questions to take the entire thing apart. Good for her

Thanks for the lovely article Louise, plain honest-to-God humanity.

Having read about Nazi experiments on new-borns, the full-term murders mentioned in the article seem little different. Since 2020 I have been very wary of the medical profession, with noble (but few) exceptions, and the thought of medics leaving a new-born to die on a cold slab, no food etc., sends a shiver.

If people knew what they were voting for, would they have voted for this? Thank you TMD

What authority really, does a European MEP truly hold. In the end is it just a good endowment, a gladiator out to pasture through pension. We want to believe, remain in child like lanes away from cynicism boreens, but we all play on the super hyways of controlling and being controlled. We break herd by self, for looking to leader continually must be viewed as chain and trauma. 80/20 be the rule for us/them, you and I. To be viewed in private, eye to eye in 100 acre woods. Get your lollipops, lollipops, come along my little ones. They're all free today, cherry pie, cream puffs, ice cream, treacle tart. I don't trust a man who makes toys in a land where children are forbidden. And sure they can’t lock us up for those them words atall atall, unless in initiated understandings says you - shine all crazy diamonds. Orca, orca, he be a kiler whale.

"We break herd by self" - one hundred per cent agree and beautifully put. Every one of us has the opportunity to communicate how we as individuals are breaking ranks from the herd on June 7. What happens after is out of our control. But the sending of the message is most important

A beautiful piece. We have a truly stellar group of independents running next week for Europe. Let's get the demons out of our legislatures, and replace them with Irish men and women. I wish Mary every success.

A great read, thank u, Louise knew nothing about Mary.. Reeling for the info about babies being left to die in such harrowing circumstances.. Had absolutely no idea.. And I didn't know about mandatory vaccinations for nursing students, omg that's appalling.. In light of what we know now, we're they trying to wipe out the Irish healthcare workforce.. Now they are doing it with embargos now.. Who are these people working for?? It's definitely not ireland or the irish people. I heard recently the dentist college in trinity take a huge cohort of their students from canada, who pay exorbitant fees, and they go back to Canada after training.. Only 12 new Irish dentists graduate each year and a 2 million increase in the Irish population.. Like wtf..

Best of luck to Mary and a great article. My husband standing as an independent in Cork City South West LEA and it's a very interesting journey. Meeting so many people that think like Mary but they're shouted out by a tiny minority.
