Pathologist sought second opinion: autopsy on teen post C19 vaccine
Boy (14) died post Pfizer vaccine
A pathologist who conducted an autopsy on a 14 year old boy who died post vaccine secured a second opinion.
Joseph McGinty, from Achill Island, Co Mayo passed away at home on September 13 2021.
He had received the Pfizer covid vaccine on August 20 2021.
Consultant Pathologist at Mayo University Hospital Dr Fadel Bennani, conducted the autopsy and sought a second opinion, a resumed inquest into the teen’s death heard.
The preliminary hearing took place at Swinford Courthouse, Co Mayo, before Coroner Pat O’Connor.
The inquest, which opened on November 21 last, heard that legal aid had been secured for the family following certification of an application by the Coroner at the previous hearing.
Mr O’Connor confirmed that he had received confirmation of the approved application for legal aid on December 15.

The medical cause of death, usually read into evidence at the outset of such an inquiry, was not made public, as part of an application made by Barrister for the McGinty family, Rita Kilroy at the previous hearing.
Ms Kilroy asked that the medical cause of death not be presented in court until after reviews of medical reports have taken place.
“The medical cause of death is going to be an issue at inquest,” the Coroner said.
The teen, a second year student, suffered either a reaction or ‘significant medical change’ following the administration of the Pfizer vaccine.
He was hospitalised on September 1 and stayed overnight at Mayo University Hospital (MUH) before he was discharged the following day. He attended hospital again on September 8 for review.
Family members held hands as the inquest into the teenager’s death got underway last month, but were not present for the second preliminary hearing at Swinford Courthouse yesterday, December 20.
Covid 19 vaccine manufacturer Pfizer contacted the Coroner following media coverage of the case.
The pharmaceutical company offered to assist the Coroner in his inquiries, the inquest heard.
The company also contacted the author of this Substack, following the publication of articles online via the Irish Mirror and Irish Independent
Pfizer will be represented at the inquest by Dublin based legal firm McCann Fitzgerald. The company are seeking Joseph McGinty’s medical records to be made available to them through the Coroner.
In preparation for the next preliminary hearing date, the Coroner asked that medical records, statements and reports into Joseph McGinty’s medical care and his death be shared between all parties to the inquest and not beyond those parties.
“When I do release draft documents I require assurance these are not released to any third party for any reason whatsoever,” Mr O’Connor said.
A list of statements will be provided from those involved in the medical care the teen received.
“It would be preferable if it were clinicians that had direct management of the matter and the statements are relevent to what the inquest requires,” Mr O’Connor said.
“A lot of investigation has gone on and there is a lot of investigation to go on,” the Coroner said.
MUH was represented at the hearing by Solicitor Linda Ryan of RDJ.
Barrister Rita Kilroy of Lavelle Bourke Solicitors of Achill Sound attended representing the McGinty family.
The inquest was adjourned for further mention to January 24.
Registration for vaccination of 12 to 15 year olds in Ireland opened on August 12 2021.
Joseph McGinty received his Pfizer covid 19 vaccine eight days later.
Parents seeking information were directed to a HSE webpage:
Deciding on Covid 19 vaccination for Children
The webpage informs parents and guardians that children are less likely to transmit Covid 19 to others if they are vaccinated. The advice also informs parents that children are less likely to miss school due to Covid 19 if they are vaccinated.
However, a Reuters News Agency fact check confirms the Pfizer vaccine does not stop either illness or transmission following the emergence of the omicron variant early in 2021. (Read: Fact Check)
Three weeks ago, The Telegraph published an article stating that Pfizer’s CEO Dr Albert Bourla had been called out by the British pharmaceutical marketing regulator for ‘misleading’ statements about children’s vaccines.
Dr Bourla claimed youngsters aged five to 11 benefited from vaccination but the pharmaceutical watchdog said the remarks misled the public.
“Shortly after the article’s publication, a complaint was submitted to the pharmaceutical watchdog - the Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority (PMCPA) - by UsForThem, a parent campaign group which was set up to promote the plight of children during the pandemic.
The complaint alleged that Dr Bourla’s remarks about the children’s vaccine were “disgracefully misleading” and “extremely promotional in nature”, arguing that it breached several clauses of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry’s (ABPI) code of practice.”
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) approved the use of the Pfizer vaccine for children aged 12-15 in May 2021, the first COVID-19 vaccine to be given such approval in the EU.

Poor kid. My heart goes out to the family.
Pfizer will surely use their limitless funds & world class legal eagles to collect the info & lie with statistics.
Seeing as they are indemnified from any liability, I wonder do they even really care how this case turns out?
Thanks for covering this Louise. A brave & honourable act in the cesspit of modern journalism you currently find yourself in.
