I notice among a few people who, prior to our most recent World experience, wouldn't have taken the time to pass any remarks on the small things around us in the natural environment. They have a new, or maybe renewed, appreciation for our surroundings and the critters that live within it. Maybe the "coof" and its ancillary agenda have had the contradictory effect of waking people up, as opposed to its original goal of subduing them even further.
Time to separate the superficial bullshit from the simple and spiritual.
Beautiful Louise. Be careful what you write or your idyllic mornings will get very crowded. You have made ‘hypothermia’ something to put on a bucket list
Very evocative for me Louise. Brings back lovely memories of SCUBA and snorkelling holidays on the west and south coasts in the 80s and 90s. You swim with the fishes on their terms. You can never touch. We are just too slow. Most thrilling experience was with the Fungi guy in Dingle in 84. Also in a shoal of trigger fish in Lough Hyne near Baltimore ( rare in these waters) . We are so blessed on this island with such easy access to the coast. Everyone can experience this beauty safely with a mask and snorkel at the Pollock Holes at Kilkee on a sunny day. Our Creator is there for sure.
A beautiful piece of writing. Magical indeed and frightening for people like me who have never really swum in the sea and seen the beauty and wonders you encounter. Keep on swimming and writing.
A piece full of beauty and tension
Good on ya Louise.

The beauty of the sea and under water world is matched only by the pros or is it a poetic description of the moment . Well done Louise .
