Deaths of 15-24 yr olds up 30% in Ireland

CSO statistics reveal worrying trend

Young people in Ireland are dying in greater numbers since 2020.

What is the cause?

Deaths in the 15-24 age cohort are up 29% since 2020, according to Central Statistics Office (CSO) registered deaths data. These figures represent people in the prime of their lives. Young. Fit. Healthy. This trend requires investigation by health authorities. Deaths in this age group are extremely unusual.

It’s worth noting that death figures supplied by the CSO in this age category are likely to be lower than the actual death rate, as deaths reported to coroners usually require the completion of an inquest before a death certificate is issued.

Note that the inquest into the death of Waterford footballer Roy Butler (23) who died five days post Janssen vaccine in August 2021, has yet to begin.

The CSO makes note of these possible anomalies here:

“A possible explanation for why this only occurs two years after the death event may be related to the completion of the coroner court process and the issuance of a death certificate. The Coroner's Annual Returns 2022 noted that an inquest was held for 2,435 deaths in 2022. The Dublin District Coroner advised, as of August 2022, that inquests can take up to 24 months from the date of death to be heard.” 

The graph below offers further insight. The vast majority of deaths occurring among Under 15’s (86%) and among the 15-34 year olds (69%) are attributed by the CSO under the Cause of Death classification as ‘Other.’

The category ‘Other’ accounts for all deaths that fall outside the other listed categories. Note that accidents, suicides, homicides and deaths where the cause is undetermined all fall within the same category and these account for the third highest cause of death behind Other and Cancer in deaths among the Under 35’s.

A CSO statisticians confirmed that the category described as ‘Other’ contains ‘anything which falls outside of the categories listed.’

The inquest into the death of Joseph McGinty (14), who died post Pfizer vaccine, concluded eight weeks ago, almost two years after his death in September 2021. The teen’s official cause of death was returned as Addison’s Disease, which will place the death in the CSO’s cause of death category ‘Other’.

Yesterday marked a revelatory day in Dáil Eireann (Oct 18) as TD’s stood up to air their concerns about Ireland’s ongoing excess deaths. Several TD’s mentioned deaths they were aware of occurring among young people in their constituencies.

Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly was absent from yesterday’s Dail discussion on Irish mortality trends, as was Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Tánaiste Micheál Martin. Their absence did not go unnoticed.

Independent TD Michael McNamara, who chaired the Oireachtas committee set up to examine the Government's response to Covid-19 in 2020, noted that back then, covid 19 deaths appeared to take precedence over all other deaths.

“There was almost a hierarchy. Deaths from Covid 19 became almost a more serious matter that deaths from anything else. And that was a major worry of mine. That’s not to take in any way from the pain and suffering of families who lost people who had covid 19,” Deputy McNamara said.

Was there a purpose to this exercise? Note that the singular focus on vaccines as the only method by which to exit lockdowns was pushed heavily upon young people.

Analyst Joe Henry, an electrical engineer by profession, with specific experience in statistical analysis has plotted excess death data since 2021 in this age group on the graph below. Based on CSO data, it shows deaths in the 15-24 age cohort begin to veer outside of predicted norms in 2021 (see red dots on graph.)

Commenting on his findings, Mr Henry said deaths in older age groups are taking ‘an absolute hammering.’

“Comparing 65-74yrs to 75-84yrs you can see the latter age band is taking an absolute hammering with excess deaths generally ~20% each quarter. This age band was +9.4% in 2021 and +18.5% in 2022. The probability of these was 1 in 240 yrs in 2021 and 1 in 31,000 yrs in 2022. It is simply an extraordinary number and the fact that it is being ignored by the establishment is even more extraordinary,” he said.

It is clear from the data that something happened in 2021 that set death rates off on a rising trajectory. The roll out of a trial phase vaccine for which no long term safety data is available must be taken into account.

Meanwhile in the UK…

Speaking to this Substack back in February, two senior medics outlined what signals arising out of excess death data should be of particular concern.

Professor Bill Tormey, a specialist in chemical pathology at Beaumont Hospital, outlined what data is required in order to further scrutinize the rise in Irish mortality.

“You’re talking about an uptick in deaths. What is the cause of the deaths and where is the excess within the whole commonality, within the whole pantheon of deaths?”

He pointed to the theory that people with cancer and heart issues who avoided going to hospitals during lockdown due to fear, form part of the excess deaths we are now seeing.

“Those cancers, that should have been treated, will continue. However, there should be a divergence between any excess cardiac deaths because cardiac is more acute,” he said.

A cardiologist that didn’t want to be named publicly, said in examining excess deaths, data needs to be examined to reveal trends.

On the topic of vaccine impact on excess deaths, the cardiologist pointed to details required from death data to reveal trends. If the data reveals a spike in sudden deaths among people in their thirties for example, that should set alarm bells ringing.

“Absolutely it may well have caused harm. If you have someone in their thirties, forties or even their fifties and they died suddenly that’s a different ballgame than an 85 year old,” he said, noting that issues such as delayed cancer treatments are a factor.

“You need to know what did they die of. What is the age group, what conditions they had, you need more information than just the figures,” he said.

German Pathologist Dr Arne Burkhardt (RIP), who developed protocols to detect spike protein from tissue samples at autopsy, noted that only in younger people can a vaccine be found to be a primary cause of death.

“Beyond the age of fifty, deaths are usually multi-causal and we don’t say in these cases that people died of the vaccination, we only say that the vaccination had an influence on the occurrence of death,” Dr Burkhardt said.

It is clear now that alarm bells are ringing, both statistically and experientially. Is it going to be left to individual families, who suspect that a covid vaccine either caused or contributed to a loved one’s death, to fight their case the state?
