"Undertake Not to Make Comments Publicly"
Dr Marcus de Brun publishes legal letter from Irish Medical Council
The contents of the legal letter offered to Dr Marcus de Brun are now in the public domain.
The Irish GP who resigned from the Irish Medical Council over nursing home deaths in 2020, published the letter earlier today.
The letter offers to ‘seek to explore’ options with Dr de Brun ‘to the extent to which you would be agreeable to give undertakings and consents pursuant to Section 67 of Medical Practitioner’s Act 2007.’
The options offered include:
a) The option not to repeat the conduct for which Dr de Brun is under investigation
b) The option to undertake not to make comments publicly on social media or otherwise which:
undermine public health guidelines or public health authorities
undermine the medical profession and/or bring the medical profession into disrepute
contravene the Irish Medical Council’s guide to Professional Conduct and Ethics
are factually inaccurate, not evidence based or are misleading
The document further advises that in accepting the offer, Dr de Brun would be formally censured (reprimanded) by the medical council.
With almost 5,000 votes on a poll posted to X, Dr de Brun has pledged to follow the will of the people and decline the offer from the Irish Medical Council meaning the Fitness to Practice case against him scheduled for June 10th is set to go ahead.
The publication of the offer is explosive given the topics Dr de Brun is raising in his public commentary:
- deaths in nursing homes resulting from the decision to transfer covid positive patients from hospitals to ‘free up space’
- vaccine injuries
- freedom of speech for the medical profession
WHO Pandemic Treaty
As a reporter who previously covered Fitness to Practice hearings at the Irish Medical Council, I have never seen the contents of such a letter circulated in public before. The unprecedented move by Dr de Brun becomes even more significant given the formal adoption today in Geneva at the World Health Assembly of the WHO Pandemic Treaty.
The Assembly opted to approve the Treaty in a vote late last night that was not featured on the public schedule. The final vote was 124 in favor, 0 against, 11 abstentions.
The Treaty was passed today at a Plenary session and formally adopted.
Article 16 on Communication and public awareness is worth noting, as it illustrates why the system punishes doctors like Marcus de Brun. The WHO Pandemic Treaty does not come into force until final aspects of it are agreed, but readers should note Dr de Brun is being punished because his actions were seen to cause distrust in the public health messaging of the covid era.
Section 2 below notes that each member state (including Ireland) shall conduct ‘research and inform policies on factors that hinder or strengthen adherence to public health and social measures in a pandemic and trust in science and public health institutions, authorities and agencies.’
Spanner in the Works
The Irish Medical Council has the option to conduct the Fitness to Practice hearing into Dr de Brun in private, which means reporters will not be allowed in to cover the all-important legal arguments. But because he has taken the unprecedented step of publishing details such as the letter above which would otherwise remain private, Dr de Brun has caught the attention of thousands.
This is a story that is clearly in the public interest, and yet no media outlets have reported on it. This, along with the known harms resulting from public health measures implemented during the covid era, should give readers a chilling foresight into what we can expect under the terms of the WHO Pandemic Treaty.
Dr de Brun’s case therefore deserves all of our attention, because exposition of the truth remains the most powerful tool we have in this literal fight for freedom.
More actions are planned and will be publicised here and on X (Twitter) in advance.
For now, I leave the last word to Angela Butler, mother of Roy Butler, who pledged her support for Dr de Brun in a comment on this Substack last week:
