It’s been a significant seven days in the spiral of medical science.
A Pfizer executive’s admission this week that no testing was done on transmission for it’s C19 vaccine has laid bare an ugly truth. Vaccine passes and the resulting discrimination, segregation, ostracisation and demonisation of the unvaccinated, were based on a lie.
This was not a lie that was covered up. It was just plainly ignored as public health officials and politicians ploughed ahead with their vaccine pass plan, aided and abetted by my own profession: the media, which set the scene for the acceptance of science as saviour.
Last Sunday’s Gospel (Luke 17:11-19) told the story of ten lepers calling out to Jesus for help. They called out from a distance, because they were isolated from ordinary life, the disease was terrifying and contagious.
The situation required a key component from the lepers in order for society to function.
Acceptance.
This week, modern Ireland witnessed a moment of vindication for the unvaccinated.
Obfuscation of unscientific concepts such as ‘asymptomatic transmission’ appeared to deliberately muddy the waters to the point that all were exhausted from endless fear mongering, lockdowns and division.
The Pfizer admission offers confirmation that a crucial element of the argument to coerce vaccines – transmission – was simply not true.
The next question is, why the lie?
To refuse an experimental vaccine made one a pariah, a hate figure, a trouble maker, a selfish, covid-denying, outcast anti-vaxxer.
This was particularly perverse, since Ireland had only very recently become a Kingdom of Equality. Of bodily autonomy.
Curiously, by the time the vaccine roll out began here in Ireland in late December 2020, the original coronavirus variant upon which the vaccines were purported to have been developed, had already mutated into Delta.
Right up until two weeks ago, the Minister for Health, Department of Health, the Health Service Executive, the politicians and the media, were pushing booster shots of the original vaccines, long after Omicron had manifested as little more than a cold.
Pfizer’s admission this week prompted lively debate in social media circles, the unvaccinated pointing out that the greatest act of policy driven discrimination of our time, was based upon an illusion of truth.
Policies based not on facts, but modelling, projection, conjecture.
In a media driven atmosphere of fear, politicians stepped in, public health officials took over and the media stepped right out of their way.
It is hard to fathom why this apparent lock-step in mainstream reportage took hold, perhaps in time individual reporters will come forward and say why.
It has been my experience that any questions or story pitches regarding vaccine safety or vaccine injury are shot down. Why?
This failure of journalism is perhaps the greatest shame of the entire sorry debacle, the institution tasked with holding power to account simply capitulated into PR.
Former Chief Medical Officer Tony Holohan was presented as a hero figure. This was the same CMO, that advised against a review of Ireland’s Cervical Check scandal in March 2019.
The controversy appeared forgotten once covid rolled in.
These cervical cancer cases are still moving through the courts.
From an RTE report from four days ago:
“The court was told the HSE also admitted a breach of duty in relation to a failure to disclose results of an audit four years later, which indicated that the original reports of negative for malignancy were incorrect.”
Earlier on Wednesday, the faithful in churches round the country heard the following line in the Gospel from Luke 11:42-46:
And he said, “Woe also to you scholars of the law! You impose on people burdens hard to carry, but you yourselves do not lift one finger to touch them.”
A teaching that deals with hypocrisy, duplicity and deceit.
The very same day, we learned that Holohan is taking up a new role with Tipperary based medical testing company Enfer.
From the Irish Times report :
“Enfer, which is controlled by businessman Louis Ronan, was one of the primary providers of Covid-19 testing to the HSE during the pandemic. In 2020 it received €122.4 million to provide testing.”
The unvaccinated have endured deep trials, personal hardship and family division based on deceit. Think of the Trinity students that fought the requirement to be vaccinated to complete medical placements, a decision from Chief Clinical Officer Colm Henry.
Meanwhile, the masses welcomed the arrival of a new pharmaceutical phenomenon, developed ‘at the speed of science’ to be injected into their veins, regardless of its components or unknown effects. The absence of evidence is not evidence, the unwilling warned, but they went unheeded.
To question the speed, safety, cost or consequence was deemed sacrilege abruptly shut down with the crucifying labels ‘conspiracy theorist’ and ‘anti-vax.’
The deception is all on record, but the situation requires those responsible to be held accountable.
The media has an opportunity here to do the right thing, but at this point that appears unlikely.
The vaccinated arguing that it was known that the jab did not stop transmission must then stand over their support for the ugly spectre that was the vax pass.
The consequence of which was discrimination, the literal making of modern day lepers, who posed no more danger than the vaccinated.
Because, had asymptomatic transmission posed such a threat, surely the requirement to test for transmission, would have been written into the lucrative, secret vaccine contracts, which look likely to be the focus of the next phase of this unfolding story
Unfortunately, because the media disallowed any dissent on the topic, the vaccinated now find themselves in a difficult position. Some are considering for the first time, that their fear was utilised to impose upon others a system of segregation they would otherwise never have entertained.
Those who disagree with its implementation can’t merely state their opposition as a defence. To profess such but then frequent a place that required a pass is hypocrisy.
Until those responsible are held accountable, elements on either side of the argument will continue to thrash about in a sea of muddied waters.
The sad fact is that the fall guy this time I fear, will not be the unvaccinated. It will be the media. Read the replies to a tweet from RTE’s Health Correspondent which has drawn public backlash and criticism:
The people are angry, for the media’s dereliction of duty throughout this period, to hold the real purveyors of misinformation to account.
Today, in a packed church of masked parishioners, another parable landed, amplifying the importance of patience and perseverance. Seven days on, a lesson from Luke 18, on persistence that ultimately paid off.
‘There was a judge in a certain town’ he said ‘who had neither fear of God nor respect for man. In the same town there was a widow who kept on coming to him and saying, “I want justice from you against my enemy!” For a long time he refused, but at last he said to himself,
“Maybe I have neither fear of God nor respect for man, but since she keeps pestering me I must give this widow her just rights, or she will persist in coming and worry me to death”.
If you appreciate this work you can buy me a Coffee!
The question is why?
Fergal is anything but fearless nor did he do his best. We are the new media. And I for one won’t be crying if the media takes the hit for this. They’re the first in line, with many more to come. Well done for actually being fearless, it takes courage to speak truth, it’s encouraging to see more people realising what has been going on.
Much respect. I left my own comment for Mr Bowers. Maybe the media will be the first card in the house that topples the rest. Thank you for your article 🙏
