Eucharistic Procession, Athlone, March 16 2025

I’m back in Medjugorje.

My first time here for Easter.

This trip has been a rough road so far and because I don’t fully understand why as yet, I’ll not bore you with the details.

Medjugorje chickens, Easter Saturday

Something very special did happen, however, at the top of Mount Križevac, (Cross Mountain), which many of us climbed barefoot on Good Friday in sympathy with Our Lord’s Carrying of the Cross to Calvary.

Holy Thursday, with Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, “Watch and Pray”

I had specifically asked for a greater understanding of his suffering on that day, of his road to Calvary, mocked and jeered, beaten and lashed at the behest of a baying mob. The same people had laid palms along his path to honour his arrival in Jerusalem the previous Sunday.

“Crucify him.”

Anyway be careful what you ask God for because oh Lord did I suffer on the way down the mountain.
